For many of our learners, the comfort and security of their home provides the ideal environment for acquiring new skills and abilities. We help both parents and children to thrive by providing them with strategies to overcome challenging behaviors, increase independence and develop new skills.
Every person is unique, and we strive to provide a friendly, healthy approach to learning that allows everyone to reach their full potential. Here are some of the skills that we help both child and adult learners develop.
- Daily Living Skills
- Bedtime Routines
- Toilet Training
- Focus and Attending
- Increasing Social Skills
- Managing Challenging Behaviors in the Home
- Time management
- Taking care of personal needs
- Caring for clothing
- Maintaining a living space
- Money management
We teach these activities with a task analysis that breaks them into simple, easy-to-learn steps, starting at a basic level and working toward more complex skills.
Parent, Family and Caregiver Training and Consultation
Our instructors will coach and support parents, families, and caregivers to continue the learner’s therapy when a behavioral professional is not there. We help the parents and caregivers generalize and maintain the skills gained from treatment.
We work with teens and adults to develop skills to allow them the freedom to work and the sense of achievement that comes contributing to their communities. This includes skills training for specific jobs, and general skills like resume writing, interviewing, and customer service.
